Car Hire Los Angeles – The City

Glamorous Hollywood is ideal for celebrity spotting and if you head to Hollywood Boulevard, you can visit Grauman’s Chinese Theater, where many stars have left their prints in the cement outside, and see the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. If you want to shop like a celebrity, head for the designer stores on Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, or try the eclectic stores on Melrose Avenue.

Pack a picnic and head off in your rental car to Griffith Park for a great view of the Hollywood sign, and to visit the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens. You can also use your hire car to get to the Universal Studios theme park where you can enjoy high-adrenaline rides and some great shows.

Los Angeles is famous for its beach cities. At Venice Beach, the boardwalk runs parallel to the beach, and skaters, cyclists and boarders weave their way through the crowds. Park your rental car and explore the shops and stalls, or see the famous “Muscle Beach”, where Arnold Schwarzenegger used to work out. Alternatively, head for Santa Monica, and visit Santa Monica Pier, which has been used as a location in many movies, or shop in Third Street Promenade.

The Disneyland Resort is probably the best-known attraction in the Los Angeles area. It’s located in Anaheim, in Orange County, and it will only take about 40 minutes to get there from Los Angeles International Airport in your rental car. There is so much to do there that it’s best to stay in Anaheim for a few days so that you can explore the resort before heading back to Los Angeles in your hire car. You could also use a rental car to get to another famous California theme park, Knott’s Berry Farm, which is about 10 minutes’ drive from Anaheim.

The desert city of Palm Springs is situated at the foot of the Mount San Jacinto Mountains, just 110 miles east of Los Angeles, and it’s easy to reach in a hire car. Palm Springs is known as a celebrity retreat and has quaint boutiques, art galleries and restaurants to suit all tastes.

You could also break up your holiday by driving to the gambler’s paradise of Las Vegas. Spend a few days in one of Sin City’s famous casino-hotels, take a stroll down the Strip, or take advantage of your rental car by driving to the Grand Canyon.
